Art Groten: PART TWO

My guest for this part two installment of the Ephemera Show is Dr. Arthur (Art) Groten, M.D. Many of you may know Art as the current Vice President, and incoming 2010 President of The Ephemera Society. There's been much written about his association with the Society, including several wonderful, recent online interviews. However, I thought it would be nice to hear about Art himself. Art the collector. Art the award-winning exhibitor. Art el hombre.

I first met Art last year at The Ephemera Society convention in Old Greenwich, CT. Although I had already been collecting ephemera for nearly 35 years, I had yet to see a professional, master-class exhibition. Art's exhibit was my first, along with several other wonderful exhibitors there. You could say that my first experience was about as good as it gets, and I paid strict attention to details. I hope to carry that forward in my own exhibiting, and I've recently won my own blue ribbon, first time out of the gate. Do I credit viewing and taking in the finer points of those ESA exhibits, including Art's, as part of my success? As Paul Newman's Fast Eddie Felson would say: "You betcha".

In the meantime, here's Art Groten. This is PART TWO of a TWO PART interview. PART ONE is available HERE.

As always, please enjoy the interview . . . I rely on word-of-mouth, there's no advertising, nothing to sell, nothing to buy . . . . so tell a friend about The Ephemera Show!
